| Marmalade On my toast it's just like jam Almost a habit and not a plan Marmalade is made from citrus fruit and then it's put in a jar I like to swirl it in a circle with the rind and all Marmalade You can eat it in a kitchen Or you can spread it in a shop Marmalade can be the je ne sais quoi flavour in a cake Or a simple bit of sweet on the side of your plate Marmalade Marmalade is not restricted to breakfast Because marmalade can be had at any time of day In a slightly different form it's called a chutney But I digress Marmalade Under the wrong conditions marmalade can taste very sour Depends on the moment and the rightness of the hour I love marmalade I eat it every week I love marmalade I love it double sweet On my toast or on some bread In my kitchen or in my bed Marmalade On a biscuit it can be perfectly fine in the middle of the night Marmalade can get stuck on you Or you can get stuck on it Marmalade It can't quite be your best friend But it can come close and stay until the end Marmalade just needs a surface It's a compote that needs to be heard Marmalade Miss a bite and mess up your beard Marmalade can stay dormant for years In the icebox if the lid is tight With a box of saltines it can feed one for a week Marmalade can be a condiment and a compliment to any meal On it's own or mixed in a food Marmalade depends on how you feel Marmalade |
